I reloaded the current beta to work around the existing bugs, but the disappointment came back quickly.
The following scenario:
Nikon D850 Video Mode
Manual settings
Release button configured as a video recording
GPS off
IOS App starts and stops the video, but
It worked only once, then the following bug in the second video
IOS app shows the following information
- Trigger is available
- This camera doesn't have this feature (Nikon have you heard this !!!)
Record button of the app pressed
The camera focuses but does not start the video
can be started manually at camera
time is running on the app
If I press stop (red button) on the app, the time is reset, but the video does not stop, the recording time starts again at zero.
Completely useless.
All of this has worked before and I'm slowly pissed off at having to constantly bother with changing bugs.
Maybe you will get my old thread out again, there were such things described.
Nine months for a new release with bugs on major features - Chapeau!
Helmut
Nikon D850 Video Mode [Fixed in FW A2.0.1]
Hi Helmut,
sorry that there are bugs. I think we fixed an issue like this in the last firmware, but if you're on iOS, that last firmware has not been released in an app yet. We'll try to do that next week.
Fixing something for one case can cause other things to break. We do try to test everything, as well as we can.
As far as I know, there is a fairly small percentage of customers using our Unleashed for Video, so we're not getting as much feedback as for Photo and Timelapse features.

The bug crept in when we fixed something else for the Z series cameras. We found a warning bit from the camera, that we could use to detect if the camera cannot start a recording. On DSLRs, there are a few Milliseconds in which this bit is set, while the camera is still turning on LiveView.
Since the Z-series always have LiveView on, this bit only gets set by the camera if the camera definitely can't record, which is why we were able to introduce the issue while working on the Z Series.
Because it's only set for such a short time on DSLRs, we missed it during our testing. We had to retry this over and over to finally catch it and fix it.

This is an example of a really hard to find bug! Only a few milliseconds to catch it from happening!
Parameter siehe erstes mail.
Thumbs down

Hallo,

I agree with your frustration concerning this project...
