Hi,
I know there will be a separate bulb feature coming (really looking forward to this one :-)). For now I tried to manually keep the shutter pressed. Today I tried this the first time, but I cannot really get it to work. After around ~15-17 seconds, the shutter releases and the image recording stops. I tried this multiple times, so to make sure that it is not me not pressing the button anymore.
Currently I am not sure how I can make this work on my Nikon D750.
Can you help me out here?
Thanks,
Matthias
Bulb Mode - Shutter releases after ~15 seconds [solved]
Even though I have no idea why it stops after 15 seconds, here's a workaround:
Instead of going to bulb mode, turn the wheel to time mode indicated by "--". Then you can click the button once to open the shutter and click it again to close it afterwards.

Hi Matthias,
that is odd, indeed. I tried to reproduce it today, but couldn't - i managed to do bulb exposures over 30s without any problem.
can you post your app and firmware versions, so I can test with the same combination? Thanks!
We're making good progress with the timed long exposures! We do still have a bit of work ahead of us: It's unbelievable how many edge-cases there are: we have to make sure it works well with timelapses, in combination with MUP, and other settings that might require an additional shutterpress...

Hi Oliver,
well, maybe it is some camera setting I don't know of? I really don't know.
Here is the info:
Serial Number: 003003
A: 1.2.1
B: 1.2.0
C: 1.2.1
(no firmware update available)
App: 1.0.3 (no update available)
For me it is not really an issue any more. The workaround is more the thing I actually wanted in the first place - so ...
Still, timed exposures directly supported in the unleashed - this will be a really really cool feature (and probably also nice for marketing purposes :D)
Matthias
Edit: when pressing the shutter manually on the camera I can get easily 30 seconds.

Thanks! I'll try to reproduce your issue tomorrow.
Yes, the "--"/TIME/T mode really is a better BULB, but only newer Nikons have it (built after 2012, if I'm not mistaken). Our D7100 has it, our D800 does not.
We're adding an emulated TIME mode along with the timed long exposure, so you'll be able to use that on all our supported cameras!
