Unleashed 22 and Sony A7CR DOES NOT WORK PERIOD.

We tested as good as we can. But there will always be things we didn't find. If you found things that apparently don't work as they should, you can report them here so we can take care of them as soon as possible.

I purchased the 22 back in early summer.
I have NEVER been able to get it to work with my Sony A7CR. All settings are grayed out saying USB not working.
Tech support tells me to read the start page.
I tried reinstalls, etc etc, dozens of times.
Finally, I asked some two months or more ago to return the product.
I have never received a reply with return instructions - or anything else.

Really don't know what to do at this time. I had the old Unleashed on my Nikon and never had issues.
But now, I have a product that doesn't work and a company that won't respond.

What should I do now?

You can get in line.

This has never worked with the Fuji XH2, in spite of being told it would.

Ive wasted countless hours with this thing. Its less than useless.

It always worked for me on my Sony A7CR, so maybe that is your experience but not a general truth.

It is a general truth for many. Before the Unleashed product was released for Sony camera's there were already problems for the Nikon and Canon camera's, and of which promises were made that these would be resolved in the "upcoming firmware" or "upcoming App" release. The battery draining problem remained, along with some other issues not being resolved...
I would suggest to you that you reread the forum messages before sharing your "general truth" message, for this is surely not the average view on the matter. Your personal experience is likewise not everbody's experience. I would call it "a lucky person" coincidence. Not everybody has the same experience with the Unleashed. That is in itself a signal that Foolography at some point has skipped/ignored customer feedback a long period of time. Unfortunately, people's patience just runs out at some point and then it's over! You can't people-please everybody, but you do have a legal responsibility to deliver what you said you would deliver. People have spent a lot of money on this, buyt did not receive that promise in reality!

I totally get the frustration, but none of what you said contradicts what I wrote. In contrast to the title of the post, I never claimed anything in absolutes. However, it is of course important to hold Foolography accountable for their promises and to warn potential users about issues and risks related to the product and your detailed post definitely serves this purpose.

Working in IT and having experienced extensive user incompetence way too often (not implying that this is the case here!), I´m just very careful nowadays with generalizations of that kind, that´s why I felt the need to share my deviating experience.

After updating to the latest firmware on my A7CR, I now experience issues with the shutter speed settings, which make the Unleashed temporarily useless. I used the bug report form on the website to send a detailed bug report about the issue to Foolography (incl. a video, showcasing the behaviour) and received a reply with follow-up questions within 5 days. That was 2 weeks ago, no fix so far - but this is a niche product and even within this niche, the a7CR is a niche camera. Additionally, there is no real alternative available. So I´m willing to give it some time. If there is a fix within the next 4-8 weeks, I'm still ahead happy customer. If not, I'll maybe join the ranks of those complaining.

In the near future, you will join the ranks of those complaining. It is not a question of IF you will complain, but WHEN you will complain. Promises are not kept, new pomises are being broken many times. Mark my words for it.
