Hi there.I have switched from Canon RP to Sony A 7 IV. Got the correct HDMI cable for the Sony to connect my Unleashed M to the Sony.
Everything worked fine on the Canon, but with the Sony I have an issue. I was able to upgrade firmware via app and Unleased connected to the Sony camera. The camera is also shown in the app as connected.
But when I try to operate the camera via the app it tells me I have the wrong USB connection type and need to change it. Well, it does not tell what it should be changed to. And I can't find any hint in any of the documentation. I have already disabled charging support via USB, and tried all possible USB behavior settings in the camera. No luck so far.
I'd apprecieate if someone here in the commuity has a hint. Would like to keep using my Unleashed.
Thanks
Reinhard
Cannot operate a Sony A 7 IV from Unleashed
I have a similar issue with my Sony A7CR.
all settings grayed out, USB not working. Tried every possible setting.
Foolography has endlessly just asked me to read the start page and has offered no other support. When I ask about returning the product, I get no answer either.

Get in line with the other users who got scammed because this product will never work with all brands. Too ambitious project, the design is flawed. Good intentions do not make a good product. Only a flawless design makes a good product. Clearly this isn't the case. I think by now, Foolography starts to grasp the idea that their product will never become the product they wanted to create. Somewhere in their ambitious efforts they got off track and now they are in a messy situation: a lot of promises, no way to back up their statements. I sure do not want to be in their shoes.

Has Oliver even made an appearance in the past year?PapaBear wrote: ↑March 13th, 2025, 8:37 amGet in line with the other users who got scammed because this product will never work with all brands. Given the sales and the complete lack of support?...Id say their shoes are runners.
Expensive ones too.
Looks to me like a scam: take the money and run. Promise a lot, make nice product portfolio, let potential customers pay up front, start with the same product (Unleased 2018) and re-use the same flawed firmware and design, collect the money, hire other people to do the work for you, add a tremendous burden on the developers to develop a product that has not been tested on all cameras of all brands, just say to the buyers that it is fully supported for all brands and cameras, let the product be assembled by external companies, ship it too late, and when users complain it isn't working, just ask them to do some tests and video the usage with tha App, if that doesn't work then promise that the problem will be solved in the upcoming firmware edition, and see here: lie upon lie. Last thing you have to do is: keep a low profile and never respond to any customers complains. There you have it: 750k euro from kickstarted collected and you are off to a nice retirement.
I would call this a sell-out. Also commonly known as: betray.
You can only promise things that you have accomplished. Like selling the skin of a bear, you must first find a bear and shoot it! With Foolography it is quite the opposite: first sell the skin of the bear, then try to find a bear to shoot it. What a way to work. You cannot promise that your product works on all cameras of all brands UNLESS you have tested that first! That is the normal route, so you know yourself that you ain't selling out other people your lies.
Never promise something you cannot deliver (because you haven't tested it yet)!
