I have a Nikon D3200 (don't judge me, it's the most I can afford...)
I have plugged my new N2 module into into the camera per the video instructions, USB cable facing toward lens..
Once installed and paired, the only feature that works on my iPhone is the GPS. The N2 unit is blinking green. All seems to be happy. But all of the other menu items state that there is no USB cable attached.
I know that my USB port works because I use the Nikon wireless unit and it works fine.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, unpaired, re-paired... no happiness.
Not sure where to go with this. Nobody responds from my "support" email -- I imagine the staff is pretty busy, so I get it.
I am not certain how to troubleshoot this issue. Wondering if anyone else has faced this and has a suggestion?

Hi Liquidgoat,
Sorry your mail is not yet answered. we were going to get it today or tomorrow. It's only 3 days old ;-)
Don't worry, noone is judging: the D3200 can take awesome photos - the sensor is very capable, and depending on what you're shooting, the extra money is better invested in decent lenses and accessories like the Unleashed! ;-)
The cable looks like it's plugged in correctly, but it's not detecting the camera.
can you choose another setting other than metering and tell me the error it shows? does it change when you unplug the USB cable? (try unplugging both sides)
Does the D3200 still have the option to change USB modes in the Setup menu? If it does, please change it to MTP/PTP mode.

Thanks, Oliver, for the quick response. And for the nice words about my cheap camera. It's like riding a Vespa to work when all of your friends are driving BMW's...
Okay, in answer to your questions, I have attached a new screenshot of my iPhone screen with the "quality" icon selected Same response.. no USB.
When I unplug both ends of the USB cable, I get the exact same result -- no USB connected. I have unplugged and re-plugged many times. I also deleted the app from my iPhone and reinstalled. Lastly, I did a factory settings reset on my camera. Same result.
I don't find anything in the manual or in the camera menus to change the USB state.
Thoughts?
Tim

Any chance of an answer or an update on my situation?
I see a similar behaviour like the thread "Nikon D3200 & N2 not playing nicely" mentions.
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=146
USB cable is plugged in with an appropriate adapter.
I can trigger a shot but that's all.
Also, a firmware update for A is found but on every attempt to update the N2 just disconnects and the LED is steady red.
[edit: merged from "N2 + D3100 issues"]

007: I merged your thread with this one as it's quite possible it's the same issue.
did it work before the firmware update?
liquidgoat, can you tell me the Firmware versions of your Unleashed?
go to Menu->Your Unleasheds (Unleashed icon with gear)->Edit Unleashed.
You should see three firmware versions for A, B and C. can you post those please?
a discrepancy between A and B could cause such a problem (looks like thats the case for 007)
