Nikon D3100 cannot connect USB cable

I received my Unleashed N2 recently and tried to connect it to my Nikon D3100. That worked and I updated the firmware.
However, I cannot physically connect the USB-cable. The Unleashed is in the way. See attachment.
Did I receive the wrong USB-cable?

I'm very disappointed with the support of Foolography so far. I think my issue is quite simple and easy to answer.
I already sent a message that I want to return my Unleashed because of this.
No reply either.

I have a follow-up question.
If I'm doing a longer time-lapse project, I'll also need USB-C to power the camera.
Is there a way to connect the unleashed N2 to the camera and a power bank that you recommend?
