Hi,
My Unleashed 22 # serial number 011364 has a problem updating firmware A. In the app, firmware updated to 50% then showed “firmware is up to date “ but it is not. Firmware A is 0.0.0 while B and C are updated. After the first update I am unable to update it again it keep showing it is up to date. I unplug the unit, reinstall app, factory reset in the app, reboot unit (in app) but nothing happens. Even the new firmware came out recently it was unable to update firmware A.
Please help.
I use Sony A7RV, iphone 15 pro, app ver 3.1.0
Thank you
Unleashed 22 failed to update Firmware A. Sony A7RV [solved with FW C3.3.1]
With the Unleashed M, you need to keep the camera awake, so that the Unleashed stays powered during the entire update. We do show a warning about this on the Firmware update screen, but it seems we need to make it more prominent! To keep the camera from entering standby, half-press the cameras's shutterbutton continuously or regularly until the update is done.
During normal operation, Firmware A is what communicates with the camera, and it makes sure that the camera stays awake when we need it to. but during the Update of A, it can't do that, so if the camera goes into standby in that time, the update fails and you're left with 0.0.0
We have plans to rework our Firmware update screen so it doesn't falsely claim to be up to date when it clearly isn't, provide more information about what's happening, and remove the buttons that cause more confusion than help. There's no need to press any button after the Install update button. But if nothing happens after lets say 2-3 minutes, then you can press one of the buttons to retry or reboot.

Hi Keng,
did you manage to finally upgrade your unleashed? I have the same problem with two unleashed beeing on 2.4 before updating to 3.3. Both are now on Firmware Version A 0.0.0 / B 3.3.0 and C 3.3.0 now. My A7RV (SW 2.01) was on power all the time, the update proceeded to 67%, then nothing happened for a while and finally a "update failed" popped up. There seems to be no way to reinstall the Software. The unleash can be found via the app, however the device resets does not seem to have an effect at all and the LED is not functioning after the update any more. If you found a solution I would be glad to know it.

😱 Sorry about that, looks like a change in our bootloader to improve firmware flashing during production caused another error that we did not catch. We have reverted the firmware versions to A3.2.1 B3.2.1 C3.1.0, so you should be able to "downgrade" by hitting update again. You might have to delete the app and re-install it, to clear the previously downloaded 3.3.0 version.
We'll try to publish a fix tomorrow
