So I got a new phone and I'm now able to do firmware updates and (only) use the trigger. The USB connection supposedly doesn't work. Do you happen to have a tool (Windows, Android) for me to do some verification of my adapter and the cable? Or: are you sure everything works with a D3100, I mean have...

Having a "back" chevron and a X to leave one screen is kinda superfluous to me.
X is usually a symbol for "cancel" (or "close") thus the confusion.

007: please try a couple of times! and yes, it's supposed to disconnect as soon as you start the update - the Unleashed then reboots into Firmware update mode, but the app should then reconnect immediately too, and begin the firmware update. can you make sure you did not pair with the Unleashed in ...

I just did an app update and it found new firmwares. But I still can't update because the Unleashed immediately disconnects at update start. Also I still can only trigger a shot but do nothing else. What now?

If you have a debug build apk I could install it and send you the logfile...
Or what do you suggest I'd do now?

I can't do a FW update because the Unleashed disconnects on every try.
